International Quality Improvement Collaborative (IQCI) for Congenital Heart Disease: Improving Care in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

IQIC Virtual Quality Improvement Course Launch

This course is offered to all IQCI participating sites.
Educational resources and mentorship will be provided for each team member to complete a required quality improvement project. There will be an opportunity to present this project virtually or in-person during the 12th Global Forum on Humanitarian Medicine in Cardiology and cardiac surgery, to be held in Athens, Greece.
The course will be divided into four modules over 6-7 months. Each module will consist of two or three lectures. There will be deliverables for each lecture that will be completed by each course participant. This online longitudinal course will provide detailed education on topics such as: Quality Improvement versus Research, Areas for Improvement, Developing and Leading Quality Improvement Teams, The Model for Improvement, Quality Improvement Tools and Data Collection, Data Analysis, Feasibility Studies, Learning Loops, Presenting and Publishing Quality Improvement Work.
The course will be overseen by quality improvement experts and course coordinators including: Physician Leaders: Dr. Kathy Jenkins (Boston Children’s Hospital) and Jeffrey Anderson (Cincinatti Children’s Hospital), Nursing leaders: Mary McLellan (Boston Children’s Hosptal and Sarah Lovern (Children’s HeartLink) and Course Coordinators Kate Dorherty and Andi Goodman (Boston Children’s Hospital).
