Transportation from Airport

Train & Taxi & Airport Bus & Tramway .

One can get from Athens Airport to city by bus, metro, suburban electric train, or taxi. The duration of the trip by Athens Airport bus is 1 hour, the bus fare is € 6. The metro will take you to Athens city center in 1 hour 10 minutes, the ticket price is € 10. If you choose to travel by Athens Airport train, such a trip will take 50 minutes and will cost you € 10. Athens Airport transfers reach the city in 35 minutes, and this service costs from € 42. The distance from Athens Airport to city center is 35 km. The shuttle is rather comfortable, however there is no room for large luggage on it. It is available 24/7. It is quite difficult to orient yourself inside the metro, for all signs there are in Greek. Metro tickets need to be punched, and then - be used within 90 minutes. The suburban electric train from Athens Airport to city departs from the same platform, as metro trains. And don't forget that you can always take a taxi.

 

Airport bus

 

There are four buses running from the airport to the city 24/7 - X93, X95, X96, X97. Each Athens Airport bus has its own route - for example, X95 arrives in the city centre, at Syntagma Square. The trip duration is 1 hour, the bus fare i s€ 6. The shuttle tickets can be bought from special ticket machines at the airport, at newsstands, or from the driver when boarding.

The bus stop is located between exits 4 and 5 from the arrivals hall.

Athens Airport bus:  Low: soft seats, no room for large luggage. For all travellers without children, young tourists, travellers with hand luggage, those who arrive at night.

The tramway electric train

 

The tramway electric train from Athens Airport to city arrives at Athens Central railway station , takes about 40 minutes of travel time and does cost  € 10 per person. The electric train departs from the same platform, as metro trains. Tickets for the Athens Airport train can be bought at the metro ticket office.

From 5.30 am to 9pm Deserving the routes  from Airport to Koropi – Kantza – Kifisias – Iraklio – Larisa Stationt    | Runs every 15 to 30 min | about 60 min travel time

Athens Airport bus:  Low: soft seats, no room for large luggage. For all travellers without children, young tourists, travellers with hand luggage, those who arrive at night and have no issues with unfamiliar areas and who can speak Greek.

Leave the airport building, cross the road and follow the To Trains signs. The entrance to the metro is located in front of exit 2 from the airport building.

 

Athens Taxi Airport transfers

 

If you are afraid of travelling across an unfamiliar city by public transport, your better choice would be to take a Taxi Airprot transfers. This service is available for everyone - you just need to book a car via phone or online. The trip by car takes 35 minutes (wihtout trafffic)  and costs € 40-45  for an Economy-class car and € 80 to 90  for a minibus up to 7 passengers. Taking a taxi from Athens Airport is a good option for tourists with children or large luggage.

Pre-booking available or taxi lane located at exit 3 from arrivals terminal. There are several taxi companies at Athens Airport, so you will quickly find a car if you don't have any special requirements (child seats, minibus, etc.)
Pre-booked transfer: the driver will be waiting for you at the exit from the arrivals area with a nameplate.
